Iceland in Winter - Talk by Colin Westgate

Colin Westgate has been photographing in the landscape for over 60 years and has never lost his enthusiasm and passion for this wide-ranging subject. Iceland is one of his very favourite locations and he has been drawn back to that country time and time again. The raw and dramatic volcanic scenery provides endless exciting opportunities for the camera.

In winter, with a covering of snow and ice, the unique Icelandic landscape is transformed into something unbelievably magical, including frozen rivers, lakes and waterfalls. The special quality of light at this time of year adds another dimension and the chances of experiencing the Northern Lights are enhanced by the longer nights.
